What Are Pavers Made Of?

All “ pavers “ are not the same. Most pavers that you have installed are manufactured. This means that they are made within large manufacturing plants.

Concrete pavers are made of sand, gravel, portland cement, water, and coloring agents. Some pavers have additives that can be used to help reduce efflorescence and help with the curing and de-molding process.

To make pavers, once the mixture is made, it will be placed into molds and compressed until the cement in the mixture has set. Once set, it will be taken out of the molds and set aside to air dry. Although there are numerous steps that are included in the paver process - this is a simplified version.
